Manchester United midfielder Casemiro’s future at the club is in jeopardy as the Brazilian has struggled to find form in the ongoing season and there are offers from the Saudi Pro League.

Casemiro, who is turning 32 in February, is currently injured and within the club, there are doubts about whether he will be the same player or not on his return.

The Brazilian showcased exceptional performance last season but faced a dip in form during the initial quarter of this campaign, leading to speculation about a potential decline. The midfielder sustained an injury in November, further fueling concerns about his trajectory.

Notable figures such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Neymar, N'Golo Kante, and Riyad Mahrez have all been drawn to Saudi Arabia, despite controversies surrounding sportswashing and human rights issues.

Typically, those enticed by lucrative offers in Saudi Arabia are players nearing the conclusion of their careers after achieving success with prominent European clubs.

Casemiro, having spent a highly successful nine years with Real Madrid, fits this profile. As a Brazilian international, his potential move to the Kingdom would be viewed as a significant coup.

In December, Man United's Football Director John Murtough visited Saudi Arabia, highlighting an untapped market that Manchester United has yet to fully exploit.

While other Premier League clubs, such as Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City, have successfully sold players to Saudi league clubs, United's engagement in this market remains limited. Notably, Alex Telles is the sole player United sold to the Saudi league, fetching around £4 million.

If the decision is made to part ways with Casemiro, who was acquired from Real Madrid for £70 million in the summer of 2022, negotiating a substantial portion of the initial investment back would be crucial, especially considering the significant sum paid for an ageing midfielder.

A potential move to a Saudi club could present the best opportunity for United to recoup a considerable amount of that investment.
